Meanwhile, at the haberdasher...

I'm trapped at home, with a cold that makes me sound like Bette Davis in the later years...I'd like the cold to leave but the voice to stay.  'Twould be perfect for my "I wrote a letter to daddy" act I've got cooking up.

Anyhoo!

My clothing tastes, once more frivolous, have evolved into pretty much black, black, white, grey, black and sometimes neutrals.  Yet, if I had that house in the English country where I could spend my Art Deco'd days with horse and hound, I'd buy everything from Haversack of Japan.

The styling is perfection!  And even the touch of color, like these red socks appeals.

For when I have to run out in the snow to grab the eggs from the chicken coop:

Whilst googling "Haversack" I came across these pictures from a few years back at the Sartorialist.  I remember seeing them and loving their look, who knew that two years later I'd be just realizing who they represented!?

A thanks to Ancient Industries is in order for leading me on the right fox trail.  If you would like to see more, may I recommend you look at their Spring 2011 collection?  More 1920's bliss at Denimaniac.

Now off to practice my Baby Jane Hudson routine...

These images no doubt sat in your mind sac like eggs waiting to be hatched. A two-year incubation!

Sorry to hear about your relapse.

I'm still back where you're grabbing eggs from the chicken soup (one reads too fast), thinking, stracciatella. The trousers seem right for it ...

!!! Yes, my love affair with Haversack started a few years ago with a cardigan with antique Swedish military buttons. Unfortunately our rendezvous are sporadic at best, budget allowing.

I only know of Haversack at Opening Ceremony ... you know of anywhere closer to home? Seems like Heir or Clover should get on that, thank you very much.

PS. I chanced upon an estate sale last weekend that would have had you frothing at the mouth.

Micah- My relapse has dwindled thankfully, and the voice remains, thankfully. If you're lucky I'll be singing you and Katie and goodnight lullaby "Is that all there is" this weekend.

Laurent-Stracciatella, I've never had it! Sounds delicious though! (Actually had to google it)

Nick- OPENING CEREMONY?! Wha-Wha-WHAT!?! How have I never seen it there?! And I think you are right about the Heir/Clover closeness, I'd be in Rhode Island Heaven if that ever happened.

and Nick Cont.- Please oh please tell me all about it!
