Thank you so much for this! I used to see them when I lived in NYC & also when I was a student at Bard in the late '70s, one of my favorite memories was once taking the train I think from Bard to NYC, they were in the same car as I was, and whether by design or coincidence, it was a very very old train car, so even without their presence it would have been like traveling in another era, but having them there of course added to the sense of time out of place, or place out of time, maybe. McDermott spoke in a very particular manner, a high voice and an odd but indefinable accent of sorts - it was winter, I think, or very very early spring, so everything outside the windows was grey and misty and leaden as if sodden or frozen. It was a remarkable experience, the train car nearly empty except for them and me, it was like the greatest show I've ever seen.
