Beverley Nichols

My Dear Beverley,

I wish you were with us today. That way, I could call you up, ask you why my lavender didn't bloom this year, gossip about the biddies around Merry Hall, and snicker/snort 'til you make me pee.

With the violence of my affections,

D.-H.O.'B.M.

(Thank you A Bloomsbury Life and Little Augury for introducing us)

wouldn't he be great company? I so agree, though I do have pretty good luck with lavender. la

So glad you have discovered him...we need to start a Beverley Nichols Society, don't you think? His books are sadly not read enough...and they are so spit-out-your-Earl-Grey-tea funny!

Love love LOVE him. In fact, I just purchased the most divine signed photo of him on Ebay -- he's a slip of a thing, perched on a yacht, wearing all white, gazing longingly into the sun. I have to frame it immediately and find a place of honor to hang it -- he makes me want to be a better (and funnier) person, despite his occasional snarkiness.
