Ritratto di Signora

Ritratto di Signora. Marcello Dudovich, 1935

I really hope when I'm over in Italy, I bump into this lady.  She'll of course: hire me as her assistant/servant which I will gladly do, then after years of servitude, leave me her fortune and Art Deco villa.  And the ski chalet in Courmayeur. And the apartment in Venice. Or something like that.

Marcello Dudovich is famous for the posters synomynous with TJ Maxx or Marshalls, found in every mother-in-law's kitchen.  This portrait, though, is amazing, and should be used for a book cover soon!

It's fabulous! xx

Daniel, you should take off your word verification - Blogger has a spam filter now, it's so boring and time consuming xx

Christina, you're right! I need to investigate this more, word verification always annoys me so why I have it, I know not!

D.E.D.- Naturalmente! I will also provide a valet per guest for the duration of the visit.

You're too funny! But of course I'm with DED and will be awaiting the invitation! Beautiful portrait.

OMG, that's my grandma!

Well, almost. She would have passed, and she definitely had a penchant for just the right amount of fur thrown around (a legacy I guiltily carry on).

Marcello Dudovich was a super poster designer, one I know particularly from advertisements for fast, modern cars. His women in particular was oh so sexy and sleek.

I wish you well in waiting for the Art Deco villa. I suspect she had a troop of lovers who might have got in for their legacy, before the villa got to you. But... *shrug*.... you might have given very special service :)

Nick- I KNEW we were related!

Hels- haha, it was the loyalty that she loved about me most, and the fact that I'd listen to the same story over and over and act like it was the first time I'd heard it.
