Reason 666 why European magazines are better than American:

  • This 70's Cacharel looking photo shoot for Marie Claire Italia.  (Also by Wendy Bevan)
I'm pretty sure the last 18 times I've looked at our Marie Claire, Rachel Ray was on the cover.

You know what I love about this? It's odd. In that ethereal, kind-of-quirky sense of the word. I also like that she has red hair (I have red hair! And we of the red hair are vastly under-represented. Especially in high fashion). AND I love the fact that the model is quirky looking. Don't get me wrong, I think she's beautiful, I don't mean quirky in a patronising way. Just...she doesn't have the kind of face most people would look at and immediately think 'beautiful!'

But I really do think this is gorgeous. And now I'm off to look at the rest of the photos. Thank you for the link xxx

Strikingly seamless splice of decades in this photoshoot/post-production epic (especially the 70s and 90s). Pity the English copy hits every cliché note the pictures carefully avoid. They should have just quoted Angela Carter.
